Accounts Apprentice - Accounts/Tax and Payroll - Swinton

The Role

Brearley & Co are a leading firm of accountants with offices based throughout the South Yorkshire region. We provide a wide range of accountancy services to a highly varied client base, including statutory accounting, audit, management accounting, bookkeeping, tax and payroll.

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious 2025 A Level student to join our team as an Apprentice and develop their career in a mixed role, covering all aspects of Accounts, Payroll and Tax

Duties and Responsibilities

The role will be based in our Mexborough office and will offer an excellent platform to develop experience within accounting, specialist payroll bureau and taxation, whilst studying AAT.

Duties will include:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Preparation of client payrolls using the latest payroll software package
  • Dealing with client payroll queries
  • Dealing with HMRC
  • Preparation of both personal tax and corporate tax computations
  • Developing experience in tax advisory
  • Working on a variety of accountancy-based software packages

Skills and Qualities

To be considered for this position the successful candidate will be educated to a high standard with a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English grade 4/C or above and 3 A level grade C or above. Individuals must be confident in nature and have the ability to deal with a variety of individuals.
